EMPIRICAL CAPITAL. Office Interior Design + Custom Signage

BACKGROUND

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Empirical Capital is a private hedge-fund that delivers high-quality returns for its investors.

Empirical Capital asked Thrasher Design Studio to review a rendering of signage proposed by another company.

On our initial office visit, it was immediately apparent upon entry, more than a signage update was needed. Bland beige walls with black rubber trim and gray carpet made for a sterile interior setting. The large room was empty of furniture—except for the receptionist’s desk—making it the opposite of inviting.

One look at the bare room, uninspired logo and generic signage was all it took to recognize a more impactful and appropriate welcome solution.

Our initial concept presentation addressed a more immediate and important concern also revealed upon our brand audit: correcting the confusing and inconsistent mixed message the fund was delivering to customers on a more daily basis. See Empirical Capital’s improved perception and our brand identity solution in this related article..

SOLUTION

If you manage hundreds of million dollars, it doesn’t hurt to look like it does it?

Our custom design concept for office signage included upgrades to the office interior—warm walls, brass fixtures and rich leather furniture to welcome visitors, offering a more luxurious and appropriately comfortable setting.

As the primary feature on a gallery wall, our bespoke design—a vintage map of Nashville printed in gold on luxurious Moore & Giles leather with antique brass characters and frame—is an alternative to your standard office logo signage.

Intimate and exclusive, this one-of-a-kind heirloom artwork is more befitting a successful private family firm responsible for building wealth to transcend generations.

The work showcases what we do best—unexpected, yet sophisticated, and impeccably executed design.

Our design even impressed the craftsmen who manufacture our commissions. We think they did an excellent job too.

“I look forward to your client receiving this incredible piece of art. Our fabricators are in love with this product.”
